This design and construct contract was a part of a major redevelopment to the USQ Springfield Library. To enhance the newly refurbished interior, the team at USQ wanted to provide their students with an outdoor area that had ample seating and inviting gardens as to create an effective and attractive outdoor learning environment.
The Direct Landscape Services team created aluminium slat tiered seating with hidden doors in an amphitheatre style, which was accompanied by paving including a chess board pattern. Stone face block walls were created to retain all softscape. Finishing off with installation of Unisite benches and tables, the area that was created was not only inviting but allowed students to connect with each other effectively.
