Petrie Mill Stage 3 Project

As part of the Petrie Mill Stage 3 project, our team installed a bio basin which acts as a natural filter for storm water flowing from the Strathpine catchment. 

Storm water contains pollutants which may include grease, oil, and heavy metals from cars, fertilisers, pesticides and other chemicals from gardens, homes and businesses that can threaten water quality in the wider catchment area.  

The bio basin creates a series of physical, chemical and biological barriers that the water needs to seep through before entering the Pine River system, removing harmful substances. 

In addition to the bio basin, our scope also included planting 15,000 plants and laying 10,000m2 of turf.
